Urea price out of control?
With the current radically high urea price, Gibb-Urea (The Nitrogen Efficiency Experts) can halve urea application rates in pastoral systems and some cereals. Click the links below to learn more including how to reduce them even further with the addition of Gibberellic Acid – all year around.
See what economists are saying about how long the current high urea and other fertiliser prices might stay….
What is the cost per tonne of DM grown (as grass) from using urea at the current price? Based on 100kg/Ha and a 25 day rotation, typical for the majority of the year, and using urea response rates of 5, 7 and 10kg DM grown extra per day, the answer is in the table below. The price of urea is represented in left hand column, and the cost of the grass is represented as the coloured cells in the centre of the table.
Basically it is cheaper to buy supplements than spread granular urea unless the cost of urea is under $1000 per tonne and/or the response rate can be guaranteed to be very high, such as newer pastures with good fertility.
This is where Gibb-Urea comes in. With our patented ONESystem technology, urea application rates of only 50kg are normal and with the supercharging and synergistic effect of Gibberellic Acid applied simultaneously – the cost per tonne of DM grown using Gibb-Urea is significantly lower.
